Haku Relatives! The oil industry is once again making a comprehensive assault on Chumash homelands and lifeways. Land, water, wildlife, cultural landscapes, and sacred places are being threatened by an onslaught of upcoming oil projects. It is time to take action!

With so many active and vocal members throughout the community, we want make sure everyone knows what is coming so we can defend Chumash ancestral territory from pipelines, trucking, and both onshore and offshore oil drilling. Working together, we can ensure that our voices are heard as we protect our ancestral lands for generations to come.

Wishtoyo hopes you can attend the upcoming informational webinar online this Monday at noon that we are co-hosting with the Center For Biological Diversity, the Environmental Defense Center, 350 Santa Barbara, Food & Water Watch, Los Padres ForestWatch, Sierra Club - Santa Barbara, and Sierra Club - Arguello Group.

The webinar will give an overview of the most threatening projects -- Exxon oil trucking, rebuilding the Plains All American Pipeline (the same one that spilled at Refugio 5 years ago), Cat Canyon, CalGEM, and drilling on BLM land (potentially including Carrizo Plains). Learn what the next steps are in the approval processes and what we can do to stop them.
